Ross Hill Vineyard exhibits at Hong Kong International Wine Fair 2010

Today at the China region’s largest fine wine trade fair, the Hong Kong International Wine and Spirits Fair, Australia’s highest-altitude vineyard and winery, Ross Hill, presented for the first time in Asia its new 2010 range.

中国地区最大的葡萄酒贸易展会香港国际美酒展于今日举行。澳大利亚高海拔葡萄园——Ross Hill酒庄面向亚洲市场展示了2010新系列。

Leading the new range of premium cool-climate red wines is the 2009-vintage Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Pinot Noir.  Ross Hill’s 2008-vintage Shiraz was awarded the Silver Medal in last year’s Hong Kong International Wine Competition, an internationally recognized event which drew more than 6,500 bottles in a sharp focus on both winemaking excellence and suitability to pair with popular Chinese cuisines. The judging panel of that competition additionally awarded the Shiraz first place in the Best Wine Matched with Peking Duck category. The line is continuing to win awards, with the new 2009 Shiraz recently winning the Gold Medal in the national Australian Cool Climate Wine Show.

Ross Hill is complimenting its 2010 range of reds with its 2010 white wine range, which is also being shown for the first time in Asia at the Hong Kong Fair.  Consisting of the 2010 vintage Pinot Gris (first place Trophy winner in the nationwide Australian Wine Wise competition), the 2010 Sauvignon Blanc and the 2009 Chardonnay.

除了2010红葡萄酒系列,Ross Hill酒庄还在香港酒展中首次在亚洲展示了2010白葡萄酒系列,包括曾在澳大利亚葡萄酒竞赛中拔得头筹的2010年份灰比诺以及2010年份长相思、2009年份霞多丽。

The winery also announced at the benchmark Hong Kong event that its first year sales figures into mainland China have exceeded expectations, with 3,000 cases (dozens) being enthusiastically received by connoisseurs
in Shanghai and Beijing.  Supporting the winery’s Asia wine strategy is its exclusive wine distribution agreement with noted British-based Hong Kong importer and distributor Corney & Barrow, established in the year 1780.  “We couldn’t be happier with our Hong Kong and mainland China sales and marketing performance”, said Ross Hill CEO Mr. James Robson. “Our partners, such as Corney & Barrow have quickly capitalized on our distinctive small-batch wines.”

Mr. Robson continued, “Our 2011 growing season has been great so far, as was our 2008, 2009 and 2010.  With the ten-year drought now well and truly broken, Ross Hill’s vintage 2011 is shaping up as one of the best – if not the best – we’ve seen.”

Growing quality grapes from an altitude of 750 metres to more than 1,100 metres above sea level, Ross Hill is not only the highest winery in the noted Orange Region of New South Wales, but the highest in Australia.  Snowfall is not unexpected all the way through October at the Ross Hill vineyard.  The winery is holder of 4 ½ Stars (out of a maximum of 5) in the 2010-11 James Halliday Australian Wine Guide.
